Rose District Cinco de Mayo Fiesta to Include Rivas & Associates

AILA Fundamentals Conference

As a Broken Arrow resident and Director of Operations for two well-known Tulsa-based law firms, Ami Bowlin is used to sometimes bringing work home with her.

Not that she minds. Bowlin is proud to be an integral part of The Lawyers of Kendall Whittier and Rivas & Associates.

“We’re bursting at the seams, but it’s such a great and challenging work environment,” Ami Bowlin said. “We also do have a lot of fun together.”

The fun, and or work will continue into this weekend for Kelley and many of her colleagues. This time, however, Bowlin’s work is coming to her and fellow co-workers Kristen Niessen, María Guadalupe Carmona Hernández, Darlene Bustos, Karol Amador, and Mia Patterson who also happen to reside in Broken Arrow.

Rivas & Associates is one of the proud sponsors for the annual Rose District Cinco de Mayo Fiesta.

The annual event is scheduled to take place Saturday, May 7 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Broken Arrow’s Rose District and will feature authentic Mexican food, dancing, music, shopping, and more, along with a strong contingency from one of Tulsa most well-known immigration law firms.

“We are very excited to be a co-sponsor of this event and have the opportunity to further promote the Rivas & Associates name,” said María Guadalupe Carmona Hernández, who works as the firm’s Public Relations Manager. “It’s our first festival to sponsor as a firm. It’s going to be an amazing day.”

The day-long event not only celebrates the Mexican Army’s defeat of the invading French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, it will be staged in one Broken Arrow’s most eclectic neighborhoods – the Rose District.

In hopes of bolstering attendance for this year’s event, Rivas & Associates will be giving away two third-row tickets to Intocable – an uber-popular Mexican regional group which will play the Tulsa Theater June 25.

Those interested in entering the ticket giveaway simply need to visit the Rivas & Associates booth at the Rose District Cinco de Mayo Fiesta Saturday and tag yourself on social media with the law firm.

“The response has already been awesome because they’re a huge group,” Carmona Hernández said. “We wanted to do something fun for the event. We thought this would be another great way to participate.”

Saturday’s Cinco de Mayo Fiesta kickstarts another yet noteworthy month for Rivas & Associates.

Standout immigration attorney and firm founding partner Lorena Rivas will serve as a panelist later this month for the Women’s Leadership Summit on May 24 at the Cox Business Communication Center.

Rivas & Associates and The Lawyers of Kendall Whittier presence at both events further reinforce that the two firms remain heavily involved and committed to the Tulsa area despite tremendous growth locally, nationally, and internationally.

“Our law firm is not so little anymore,” Lorena Rivas said. “We’ve received so much tremendous support from the Tulsa area and are looking forward to spending Saturday at the Rose District Cinco de Mayo Fiesta.”
