Rivas & Associates to Present Big National Hispanic Heritage Month Event with Tulsa Public Schools

National Hispanic Heritage Month

As the public relations director for a bustling law firm just named to the 2023 Inc. 5000 List for fastest-growing privately-owned companies, Maria Carmona Hernandez is used to being busy. Still, when the calendar turns to September, Carmona Hernandez knows the pace will only accelerate at Rivas & Associates.

September marks the beginning of National Hispanic Heritage Month, and Carmona Hernandez’s employer, Rivas & Associates, will be front and center of it all in Tulsa.

The nationally recognized immigration law firm will be involved in many key events in and around Tulsa to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month which begins Sept. 15 and lasts through Oct. 15.

“We always know September is going to be very busy for us,” Maria Carmona Hernandez said. “It’s like being caught in a storm, but a good storm. I always like September, and we are very fortunate to have the support of the Tulsa community.”

Carmona Hernandez, who recently returned from the INBOUND Marketing Conference in Boston, says the firm will participate in an event every weekend through the National Hispanic Heritage Month.

“It is a great opportunity for us to interact with not only current and prospective clients but also members of the community and other Tulsa businesses and organizations,” Carmona Hernandez said.

Rivas & Associates is partnering with Tulsa Public Schools to present the Festival de la Herencia Hispana on Saturday, Sept. 23 from 3-8 p.m. at the Gathering Place.

Of the National Hispanic Heritage Month events the firm will participate in over the next few weeks, Carmona Hernandez says this will be the biggest one.

“We are really looking forward to it,” Maria Carmona Hernandez said. “It is going to be at the Gathering Place in Tulsa and will feature parades, Latin and traditional Guatemalan dancing, and a lot of food booths. It’s going to be a great event.”

As stated on the event’s Facebook page, the second annual Festival de la Herencia Hispana is “a free community event to celebrate and recognize the contributions and cultural diversity of our Hispanic students, families, and team members, through music, dance food, local vendor showcases, and more.”

National Hispanic Heritage Month Another Way for Rivas & Associate to Support Tulsa Community

Whether it is National Hispanic Heritage Month, participating in the first inaugural Hispanic Business Expo this past March, or co-sponsoring the Rose District Cinco de Mayo Fiesta in May, Rivas & Associates remains embedded in the Tulsa community.

This year, the firm initiated the Rivas & Associates Client Advocacy Department and the Rivas & Associates Education Program to further support existing, past, and prospective clients.

If that were not enough, Rivas & Associates expanded its reach in Oklahoma by opening an office in Oklahoma City in September.

“It’s a busy time for us,” Maria Carmona Hernandez said, “but that’s why we all really like working at Rivas & Associates. We have the opportunity to touch and reach many people in need.”
