The longer Ami Bowlin continues to work at Rivas & Associates, the more things become visibly clear.
Expansion is on the horizon. And there is no conceivable end in sight.
Rivas & Associates expanded its reach in Oklahoma and regionally by opening a new office in Oklahoma City at 3508 NW 50th Street in Oklahoma City. The well-known and ever-growing immigration law firm now has a second home to complement its Tulsa-based office.
“Opening an office in Oklahoma has been on the road map the last year, but we also hadn’t really planned for when it might happen,” said Ami Bowlin, who serves as the firm’s Director of Growth and Expansion. “It really was an act of perfect opportunity, and one we are really excited about for multiple reasons.”
One of those reasons has to do with the logistics of the Rivas & Associates Oklahoma City office. It is centrally located and near an exit off Interstate 44. Another appealing aspect is the layout and the history of the office itself.
It is a home that has been converted into a 2,000-square-foot office with five meeting spaces, a conference room, and a spacious backyard. It also does not hurt that a former immigration attorney was the previous tenant.
“It really is a great location for us and for clients to find us because it was a previous immigration law firm’s office,” Ami Bowlin said.
Bowlin said as many as eight people could potentially office and work at the Rivas & Associates Oklahoma City office. Bowlin said Rivas & Associates CEO Lorena Rivas will spend at least two days per week consulting with clients in Oklahoma City and firm attorney Braxton Coil will be based in the OKC office.
Much of the two attorneys’ time in Oklahoma City likely will be spent at the Mexico Consulate Office in Oklahoma City which opened earlier this year in May.
Before opening an Oklahoma City Mexico Consulate Office in 2023, Rivas & Associates, attorneys, clients, and legal personnel would have to travel to Little Rock, Arkansas, or Dallas to visit the next closest Mexico Consulate Offices.
“Having a law office in Oklahoma City works really well for us,” Ami Bowlin said. “Not only is there a consulate office here, but there also is a United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Field Office in Oklahoma City that is close to our office. The proximity is going to allow us to have more consultations and make more connections.”
Rivas & Associates Oklahoma City Office Opening Continues Milestone 2023
To say Rivas & Associates is having a breakthrough year in 2023 would be an understatement.
In addition to opening a new office in Oklahoma City on Sept. 18, 2023, the immigration firm made the prestigious Inc. 5000 List this year.
The Inc. 5000 List is a composite ranking of the fastest-growing privately-owned companies in the United States. Rivas & Associates was one of just 26 Oklahoma businesses to make the list and one of only 51 law firms nationwide included.
No End in Sight, Continued Growth and Expansion on the Horizon
What’s the next move for Rivas & Associates?
While Ami Bowlin is not entirely sure at the moment, she does believe that the Oklahoma City office opening has paved the road for additional office openings elsewhere.
“There is no maybe about that; it is going to happen,” Bowlin said. “Oklahoma City is not our final stop. I am not sure where our next office will open, but we will be geographically strategic – maybe Dallas or Arkansas where there are other USCIS Field Offices.
“The whole goal of this role is to take us to the future. It’s all about where we can go and have the biggest impact. We are super excited about our opening in Oklahoma City and about the future.”
