
Biography
Somarys Alcantara is a passionate and driven immigration attorney with a deep commitment to advocating for individuals seeking relief through immigration law. With expertise in asylum, adjustment of status, employment authorization, and humanitarian relief, Somarys is dedicated to guiding her clients through some of the most complex and life-changing legal processes.
Somarys’ journey into immigration law is personal. As a first-generation Dominican-American born to immigrant parents, she understands the emotional and psychological complexities that often accompany the immigration process. Her own experiences and her family’s immigrant story give her a distinct perspective and drive to help others overcome obstacles and achieve their immigration goals.
Somarys earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Florida International University. She then went on to earn her Juris Doctorate from St. Thomas University College of Law in Miami, Florida. During her time at St. Thomas University, Somarys was a vital member of the Immigration Clinic and served as an executive officer of the Immigration Law Student Association, where she further honed her legal skills and passion for immigration advocacy.
With both practical and academic experience, Somarys is well-equipped to handle the diverse and nuanced challenges of immigration law. Her unwavering dedication to her clients is rooted in her genuine desire to provide compassionate, strategic, and personalized legal representation. Somarys remains focused on her mission to assist immigrants in securing the relief they deserve, ensuring that they have the support and legal guidance needed to navigate their journeys successfully.
