Braxton Coil is a managing attorney at Rivas & Associates who is passionate about advocating for individuals and families during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. Born and raised in Edmond, Oklahoma, Braxton brings both deep local roots and a strong sense of purpose to her legal practice.
Braxton earned her Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law and graduated in May 2019. She is licensed to practice law in the State of Oklahoma and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma. She also minored in Spanish during college and completed a Spanish for Lawyers course after becoming an attorney, allowing her to better serve Spanish speaking clients.
Her legal background includes experience in both criminal defense and immigration law. Prior to joining Rivas & Associates in Tulsa, Braxton worked in criminal defense at Michael Brooks Jimenez in Oklahoma City. This diverse experience shaped her ability to approach each case with both legal precision and compassion.
Braxton focuses her practice on immigration, family-based cases, and humanitarian relief. She serves clients from all backgrounds and believes strongly that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and care. What drew her to immigration law was the opportunity to give a voice to people who feel unheard and to help families stay together. For Braxton, every approved case and every reunited family is a reminder of why this work matters.
Clients describe Braxton as kind, attentive, and deeply empathetic. She prides herself on truly listening to each client’s story and making sure they feel seen and valued. Her approach is guided by the belief that everyone’s story is important and that advocacy begins with compassion. She strives to treat every client the way she would want someone to advocate for her.
Outside of the office, Braxton is a former college athlete who played softball at Missouri State University. Her background in team sports continues to influence her professional life, reinforcing the importance of collaboration, discipline, and mutual support. She remains involved in youth softball programs and enjoys running, CrossFit, and all things sports related.
Braxton describes herself as joyful, passionate, and deeply invested in the work she does. She believes that each day in this profession offers an opportunity to change someone’s life for the better, and she does not take that responsibility lightly.
