Badria Mryyan

Biography

Badria Mryyan joins Rivas & Associates with the hopes of being able to continue her support of immigrant communities across the United States, including her home state of Arkansas.

As a child of an immigrant, Badria is passionate about giving others a fair shot at the American Dream. She decided to become an immigration attorney after watching news footage of immigration attorneys travel to airports across the U.S. to provide immediate support to arriving immigrants effected by the first ‘Muslim Ban.’

She attended the University of Arkansas School of Law in Fayetteville, Arkansas. While in law school, Badria spent two years as a student attorney with U of A’s Immigration Law Clinic while also doing pro bono work locally.

Following graduation, Badria began her legal career working in legal aid services in Oklahoma, where she primarily worked on housing discrimination cases. When an opportunity arose for Badria to return to immigration law, she took it; she worked for a nonprofit legal services provider in California, providing representation to immigrants with cases before both USCIS and EOIR. She has also worked on immigration appeals for the BIA and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Badria is excited to be on the Rivas team and to begin her work supporting immigrants with immigration court cases coming up. Badria is barred in Arkansas and Oklahoma and currently resides in Little Rock, Arkansas. In her free time, Badria enjoys reading, cooking elaborate meals, hiking, and spending time with her cats.
